Efthymios Nicolaidis is Director of the Science Museum of the Observatory of Athens. He is also General Secretary of the International Union of the History and Philosophy of Science, and Corresponding member of the Académie Internationale d’Histoire des Sciences (2002). His recent publications include Multicultural Science in the Ottoman Empire, co-edited with 8) E. Ihsanoglu and K. Chatzis; Science, Technology and the 19th-Century State: The Role of the Army, co-edited with K. Chatzis, and Byzantium-Venice-Modern Hellenism. A travel in the world of Modern Greek scientific thought, co-edited with G. Vlahakis.
